Carsten Willard, the eldest son of William Bernard and Sophie (Larson) Ingvoldstad, was born 30 Jul 1904 in Decorah, IA. Fie met Beth McClannahan while she was teaching school in Decorah (1931-1938). They were married 1 Jun 1938 in Faith Lutheran Church, Chicago, IL. The service was officiated by his uncle, the Rev. Orlando Ingvoldstad. Beth was born 4 Jul 1907 in Mondamin, lAthe daughter of Evert Edward and Jesse (Browley) McClannahan.

Carsten and his brothers were involved with the operation of the Ingvoldstad Lumber Company, but at the time of his marriage he was assigned by his father to Long Lake, IL to sell real estate and build houses. Beth taught in Round Lake, IL for 3 years (1950-1953) until the family moved back to Decorah. Then she taught in Calmar, IA for 22 years. Her first years of teaching were at Mondamin for one year (1927-1928), and Dunlop, IA for 3 years (1928-1931), for a total of 36 years in the teaching profession. She was very involved in the church and the community.

Carsten Willard and Beth had 4 children: Carsten, Mary, Patrick and Roger. Carsten William was born  in Waukegan, IL. He is a 1966 graduate of Iowa State University, Ames, IA with degrees in Electrical Engineering and Mathematics. He is employed by 3M Company, St. Paul, MN and is currently a Facilities Engineering Manager. In 1996 he will complete 30 years of service. When Carsten met Constance Josephine Donnelly, she was a practicing cosmetologist at Bowlus’ Beauty Salon, Decorah. They were married 29 Dec 1962 in St. Benedicts Church, Decorah. Constance was born in Council Bluffs, IA to Wendell and Ione Donnelly.

Constance and Carsten have 3 children: Cynthia Ann (LaBat) . She graduated in 1986 with a degree in Business, major in Finance, from the College of St. Thomas, St. Paul, MN. She is employed by the First National Bank of Omaha, NE as a Network Relations Manager. Eric LaBat and Cynthia were married 29 Sep 1990 in Omaha at Harrison Street Baptist Church. Eric is a 1987 Journalism graduate of Iowa State University. He is employed as Product Manager by the Union Pacific Railroad in Omaha. Eric and Cynthia have 2 children: Anthony Joseph and Celina Constance.

Carsten Patrick graduated from Iowa State University in 1989 with a degree in Computer Engineering. He is employed as a Senior Software Design Engineer by Compressor Controls, Des Moines, IA. Carsten met Kimberly Joan Wilburn while they were at Iowa State University. They were married 17 May 1992 under the Campanile at the center of the Iowa State University campus by David Digbe, Disciples of Christ Church, Ames. Kimberly is a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and is currently at I.S.U. working toward a Ph.D. in Immune Biology. They have one child, Maya lone Wilburn Ingvoldstad.

Curtis James attended I.S.U. for 2 years in Industrial Engineering and the University of Minnesota for one year in pre-Architecture and 2 years in Studio Arts. He is currently a chef at the Riverside Cafe’, Minneapolis, MN. He has one son Alexander Zachary Ingvoldstad Metz

Mary Elizabeth (Walton) was born in Waukegan, IL. She graduated in 1963 with a degree in education and a teaching certificate from Iowa State Teachers College (U.N.I.). Mary and Gilbert Walton Jr. were married in Decorah Lutheran Church on 21 Jun 1964. Gilbert attended the University of Iowa, Iowa City, IA and Upper Iowa University, Fayette, IA and is a graduate of the latter. They own and operate Walton’s Office Supply in Richland Center, Wl. Mary taught school in St. Louis, MO and is now teaching in the Richland Center area. They have 2 sons: Jeffrey Gilbert born in St. Louis and Edward Gilbert born in St. Louis. Jeffrey is a 1993
